Karen Jones
CEO
Citywealth

Karen founded Citywealth after a career at News International, The Times, and Sunday Times in the legal, financial and recruitment sections. She also ran the Legalease flagship title Legal Business/Asia Pacific Legal 500, and launched Legal Business Awards and Legal 500 parties. Karen then took over In Brief magazine, where she grew the organisation from a buyout where it had gone bankrupt to a successful £500,000-a-year publishing and events business. Her work as a Citywealth CEO was recognised by four New York Stevie Awards: Women helping women (2014, 2015), Innovator of the year (2015), and Entrepreneur of the year (2015).

Gail McCourt
Head of Private Client Fiduciary Services
RBC Wealth Management

Gail McCourt is Head of Private Client Fiduciary Services For RBC Wealth Management in the British Isles. Based in Jersey she is responsible for the award-winning team of Fiduciary Management and Technical Trust teams in the Channel Islands, providing solutions to help clients preserve their wealth and create a meaningful legacy. She is a member of the WMI Operating Committee.

Gail joined RBC in 2003 and has also held roles including Head of Marketing, Head of Client Experience. and most recently four years as Head of Fiduciary Management. She is an active advocate of Diversity and Inclusion and in 2018 was recognized by mental health charity Mind, winning its 'Senior Leader Award' in celebration of her commitment to driving a healthy, inclusive and respectful workplace culture.

Gail holds the loD Diploma in Company Direction, the loD Certificate of Directorship and the Investment Management Certificate from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. She also holds a BA Hons. and Masters in Applied Languages for Business.

Outside of work, Gail enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Brendan Stewart

Brendan has led Investec Bank in Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man for the past four years, having moved from Investec South Africa where he was regional head of the Private Bank. A Chartered Accountant and Chartered Management Accountant by training, Brendan has worked in Corporate Finance, Private Equity and Structured Lending during his career with EY, Unilever Ventures and Investec. He is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School.

David Gilmour

David Gilmour is Managing Director of the Imperium Group, which he founded in 2011.

David is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Director and a Trust & Estate Practitioner and has significant experience in implementing complex tax structuring, family office planning and sourcing and structuring property and bank financing.

Imperium has a multi-jurisdictional offering providing Trust, Corporate & Fund services in Guernsey, Jersey & London. The business has a strong international client focus and David travels extensively within his role. As a result David has constructed an excellent contact and client base in the UK, Middle East, India, Eastern Europe and East & South Africa.

Rennie Hoare
Partner & Head of Philanthropy
C. Hoare & Co.

C. Hoare & Co. is the UK’s oldest family-run bank and the fourth oldest bank in the world. Rennie joined the bank in 2016 and has been a partner since 2018. The seven partners are 11th and 12th generation descendants of the bank’s founder, own 100% of the bank, and carry unlimited liability. Rennie is also head of philanthropy and is Chair of the bank’s trustee services. This includes the bank’s donor advised fund (DAF), the Master Charitable Trust. The Master Charitable Trust accounts for around 10% of the UK DAF market.

Prior to working at the bank, Rennie worked in asset management at T. Rowe Price, Threadneedle and Guinness Asset Management. He graduated from the University of York with a BA Hons in Politics and holds the Investment Management Certificate.

Rennie is the Chair of Philanthropy Impact and a trustee of the David Nott Foundation.

Jonathan Gamble

Jonathan Gamble & Associates

Jonathan is an independent consultant and non-executive director, working with a number of firms in the fiduciary and wealth management industry.

Prior to this, Jonathan worked at Asset Risk Consultants (‘ARC’) for twenty years, in a number of Director roles, contributing significantly to ARC’s growth and their relationships with a wide range of intermediaries, seeking to provide practical solutions to their clients investment questions.

With a BSc (Econ) degree in Economics from the London School of Economics, he has significant investment banking experience from his time on trading floors at Morgan Stanley International and Société Générale Sydney and Singapore, where he was Chief Dealer and Regional Chief Dealer in Singapore respectively. After moving to Paris, he attended INSEAD completing an MBA gaining a Distinction. He joined ARC in 2001.

Jonathan holds both the Fellow and Chartered Wealth manager designations from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment as well as a qualified member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Amongst other roles, he is a STEP Guernsey Committee member and is a Trustee of the Elizabeth College Foundation, and has held a number of listed and non-listed non-executive positions.

Felipe Zurutuza

Felipe is a very experienced Private Banker who started his career in 2000 at after finishing his studies. He started his career at UBS (2001-2010), then he became moved to HSBC (2010-2014) and after the acquisition of HSBC by LGT in December 2014 he joined LGT as Managing Director where he has worked since then. With over 20 years experience he was awarded by Citywealth in the IFC AWARDS as PRIVATE BANKER OF THE YEAR 2022 GOLD and 2021 BRONZE. Felipe has demonstrated history of working in the Wealth Management industry and a very extensive network. Skilled in Negotiation and Client management. Strong finance professional with a Master in Banking and Finance, Diploma in Advanced Programe in Wealth and Portfolio Management and CWMA certified.

Elliot Goodman

Elliot Goodman is the Group Managing Director of Clermont. He joined the Group in 2013 and was a key driver behind its growth in Switzerland, the BVI and the United States. Elliot has extensive experience in establishing and administering complex tax and estate planning structures for high-net- worth individuals and families and advising them on family governance matters. In 2010 Elliot was listed by Private Client Practitioner as one of the top 35 private client professionals under 35 globally and in 2013 was added to the Citywealth Leaders List (where he continues to appear). In 2020 Elliot won the Citywealth Client Rating Award, an award voted for exclusively by end clients, and won Trustee of the Year – Switzerland (Bronze) in the 2022 IFC Awards. Born in London, Elliot graduated from Manchester University with a degree in Architecture before qualifying as a Solicitor (England & Wales) in August 2002. He is also a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Lewis Edwards

Lewis is a solicitor specialising in UK tax, Wills and estate planning. While many of his clients are based in the UK, a significant number have international connections or live overseas. Lewis therefore works closely with law firms, trust and company service providers, family offices, tax advisers and investment managers around the world, often co-ordinating a team of professionals across several jurisdictions.

Before qualifying as a solicitor in 2007, Lewis read History at Oxford University. He completed his legal studies at the College of Law in Surrey and in 2011 was awarded the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates.
