Karen founded Citywealth after a career at News International, The Times, and Sunday Times in the legal, financial and recruitment sections. She also ran the Legalease flagship title Legal Business/Asia Pacific Legal 500, and launched Legal Business Awards and Legal 500 parties. Karen then took over In Brief magazine, where she grew the organisation from a buyout where it had gone bankrupt to a successful £500,000-a-year publishing and events business. Her work as a Citywealth CEO was recognised by four New York Stevie Awards: Women helping women (2014, 2015), Innovator of the year (2015), and Entrepreneur of the year (2015).
Emma is an experienced tax planner with over 10 years’ experience. Specialising in general compliance process management including disclosure facilities and HMRC enquiries. Her portfolio of clients includes owner managed businesses and high net worth individuals.
Emma’s focuses also include: property tax, family tax planning and IHT planning.
Rakesh works with high-net-worth individuals who are either UK resident or non-UK resident with UK assets, onshore and offshore trustees and their structures, as well as family and private offices. Many of his clients have an international element, either because they have assets or structures outside of the UK, or they are moving to and from the UK, which always requires careful tax planning.
Rakesh carries out tax advisory and compliance services for clients with complicated financial affairs and multi-jurisdiction assets by providing a family office service. He has over 20 years’ experience in providing tax advisory services to UK resident but non-UK domiciled high-net-worth individuals and his specialist knowledge also includes offshore trust and corporate structures.
James has over 20 years’ experience of acting for clients in relation to complex and high value commercial, trust and estate disputes in Jersey and other international/offshore jurisdictions. James regularly appears in Jersey’s senior courts and has acted as an expert witness in relation to issues of Jersey law. James has been ranked in the Citywealth Leader’s List and has variously been listed by Citywealth as one of its “Top 20 Lawyers for 2020”, “Top 100 Trust litigators and Polymaths” and one Jersey’s “Top 20 Professionals”.
Michael is a founding partner of Fischer Ramp Buchmann AG.
He advises private clients on their domestic and international estate, tax, social security and succession planning as well as on philanthropic projects and governance related questions. Michael has considerable expertise in dealing with tax authorities and advising foreign lawyers, and he is a recognised expert on the taxation of trusts and similar structures. Further, he acts on behalf of corporations, in particular family held companies and family offices, in domestic and cross-border matters.

Sailesh joined JTC in 2018 with its acquisition of Minerva, where he had worked since 2001, based in its Jersey office.
He has wide-ranging experience of building client and professional relationships, and developing business across Africa and Europe. As a trusted advisor, Sailesh specialises in guiding successful families in their succession and private client strategies, also assisting corporate entities, impact investors and development finance institutions with aspects of their cross-border structuring.
Sailesh has over 30 years’ experience working in fiduciary and banking settings.
Elias has long and deep experience in providing international businesses and organisations with advice at the highest level on matters including mergers and acquisitions, cross-border investment, business structuring, corporate governance and tax and international tax planning.
Alison joined Intertrust in Guernsey in 2019 as Head of Private Wealth for the Island. She brings over 25 years of international experience to the Private Client and Corporate Clients she works with and is technically skilled at managing complex structures and transactions involving financing, legal, & governance issues. Alison leads a team of 50 people and is responsible for implementing strategy and leading the business development initiatives for Guernsey. Alison is well regarded and recognised as a “Thought Leader” in the Private Wealth industry
John, born 1986, leads the UK Market in Switzerland, having joined the Group in 2010. A member of the Mirabaud Group’s Investment Committee, he oversees all investment management activities within the UK Market (both discretionary and advisory) and was named one of PAM Awards’ “Top 40 Under 40” in 2020. He runs a charity helping young handicapped people and is also an executive board member of a family-owned wine business in Italy. Prior to joining Mirabaud, he started his career in New York, working for 2 years in an alternative investment firm where he focused on distressed corporate and structured credit. He studied Philosophy at the Sorbonne (Paris-I), holds an MA in Classics from Cambridge and is fluent in French, English and Italian.
